Reflections Upon Requesting Life Profession

Br. Ian Vincent, n/OEF plans to travel to the United States from Nagoya, Japan this summer to request lifetime profession with the order. What follows is a brief reflection on his formation process:

When Jesus was asked what was the greatest commandment he replied “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.” This is the greatest and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ (Matthew 22:37-38)

Over the past months and years of formation, the Order of Ecumenical Franciscans has helped me to do both of these to the best of my ability, for which I am continually grateful. The Order of Ecumenical Franciscans, with St Francis and St. Clare as its guides, helps me remember that that the only thing truly worthwhile in this life is keeping Jesus as the centre of my life.
